Injured Rafael Nadal US Open match against Fognini

Rafal Nadal overcame a horrid start and a bloody nose injury to beat Fabio Fognini, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1, and reach the third round of the US Open

The 22-time grand slam winner had an injury during a nerve-racking moment in the anticipated final set

Immediately after, Nadal grabbed his nose and dropped his racket, giving up the point.

He sat by the umpire's chair on the court and removed his hand from his nose.

As Nadal struggled to get going, the seasoned Italian came out strong and built a set and a 4-2 advantage.

When Nadal raced down an overhead and crushed a forehand down the line to break Fognini and take a 4-2 lead in the third set, the momentum changed in his favour.
