Former UCLA basketball player Jalen Hill dies at 22

Jalen Hill, who played basketball at UCLA until last year, has passed away due to personal reasons, according to the family.

The family posted on Instagram Tuesday that Hill died after going missing in Costa Rica

"We know that Jalen has played a part in the lives of so many," Hill's family wrote in the post.

Forward Kendra Hill of Corona, California, averaged 6.5 points and 6.4 rebounds, starting 40 of 77 career games for the Bruins over the course of three seasons.

The coach tweeted, "Jalen was a warm young man with a big smile who left us too soon."

In April 2021, Hill posted an Instagram video in which he explained his reasons for leaving the program that February.
