84-year-old Jane Fonda shares she's been diagnosed with cancer

He took to social media platforms to share this news

In the caption she wrote, "So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and have started chemo treatment.

It is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky.

Fonda remarked that she considers herself "fortunate" to have access to "the best physicians and therapies" and decent health insurance.

Fonda said she will receive chemotherapy for six months, but she won't let illness stop her from being an activist for the environment.

The disease, according to Fonda, is her "teacher," and she is "paying attention to the lessons" it has to teach her.
